WEEI.com's Rob Bradford is reporting that
the Baltimore Orioles have interest in a trade for OF Yoenis Cespedes. While it's all speculation at this point, the player returning to Boston
could be starting pitcher
Wei-Yin Chen. Both players are eligible for free agency after the 2015 season—making it a fairly balanced swap. The Orioles are in
serious need of offense—having lost
both Nelson Cruz and
Nick Markakis. The 29-year old Chen (a lefty) is 35-24 over three MLB seasons with a 3.86 ERA. He averages around seven strikeouts per nine innings with a WHIP of 1.265. He's given up
slightly more hits than innings pitched in his career.
