As time moves on, it appears that the Red Sox may actually be planning to go into the 2015 season with their
current starting rotation.
ESPNBoston.com's Gordon Edes reports today
that Ben Cherington has—in fact—admitted that the team is not "actively engaged" with any of the elite free agent pitchers still available. This is highly distressing on many levels. It indicates that the Red Sox are not pursuing the safest route to improve the rotation—through free agency (without sacrificing prospects).
