MLBTradeRumors.com commissioned its top people to predict where some of the premiere free agents would land this Winter. According to their prognostications,
the Red Sox will get: James Shields RHP, Francisco Liriano LHP and Chase Headley 3B. They are respectively the third, fifteenth and sixteenth-ranked free agents on the market. Clearly, this haul of mercenaries would need to be augmented by some trades to make the 2015 squad competitive again. But, it's not a bad start.
