and fourth overall—as the best defensive second baseman in the American League.
The Laser Show now owns the most
infield Gold Gloves in Red Sox history. He is the fourth player in team history to possess at least four Gold Gloves—joining
Dwight Evans (8),
Carl Yastrzemski (7) and
Fred Lynn (4).
The Muddy Chicken garnered a .997 fielding percentage—the best ever by a Red Sox second sacker. Moreover, his .992 career mark is
