Red Sox manager
John Farrell is in Osaka, Japan to manage a squad of 29 MLB All-Stars in a five-game series against their Japanese League rivals. While Farrell's roster is indeed star-studded (although no Red Sox players made the trip),
really big deals like
Bryce Harper,
Albert Pujols and
Adam Jones pulled out of the exhibition series. Farrell stated that he's looking forward to seeing Japanese pitching sensation
Shohei Otani, a 20-year old righty who hurls for the wonderfully-named
Nippon Ham Fighters.
