Cole Hamels To Red Sox: "No Trade For You!"
It was revealed this afternoon that Phillies lefty Cole Hamels has the Red Sox on his no-trade list—one of 20 teams he doesn't want to be dealt to. For those of you who are cipher-impaired, that means there are nine teams that Philadelphia could work out a deal with (assuming the Phillies don't want to make a deal with themselves). Basically, the no-trade provision means that Hamels could not be traded to Boston without his express permission—which is, frankly, not bloody likely. We're trying real hard to come up with additional, lame Seinfeld references, but we are speechless, we have no speech. We will, however, say—in parting—that this whole Hamels thing is the biggest scam perpetrated on the American public since One Hour Martinizing. There, we've said it.
