Very early voting in our latest
FenwayNation Poll shows that
Brock Holt has a slim lead on
David Ortiz for
FN's 2014 Player Of The Year Honors. As the chart shows, Holt garners 54% of the early vote, with Big Papi close behind at 46%. Although Holt played in just 106 games—compared to 142 for Ortiz—he was a spark plug at the top of the Red Sox order for a good portion of the year. Ortiz had 35 HRs and 104 RBIs. No other contender on the list (among
Jon Lester,
Mike Napoli,
Daniel Nava or
Dustin Pedroia) has gotten any votes as yet. You can still vote in the poll
