According to multiple reports,
Hiroshima Carp pitcher Kenta Maeda wants to pitch for one of two MLB teams: your Carmine Hose or The Evil Ones. The 26-year old right-hander will likely command somewhere in the range of $130 million from one of the two behemoths. In 179 innings for the Carp this past season, Maeda had a 2.56 ERA. Scouts are somewhat mixed on his potential—with many seeing him as only a serviceable 4th starter in the American major leagues. Given the state of the Red Sox rotation (that would be:
shambles), it would behoove the team to aggressively pursue even a fourth starter like Maeda. Stay tuned for some intense bidding!
