Eventually,
Anthony Ranaudo was going to have to lose a major league start. It happened on Wednesday night, as
The Bronx Embalmers (or, more specifically, the undertaker named
Brian McCann)
beat the Sox, 5-1. The annoying pattern of 'winning one/losing one' continues in this
Season of Sisyphus—and that ain't no myth. Ranaudo went 5.1 innings—giving up six hits and three earned runs. The "offense" was provided mostly by
Brock Holt (the RBI) and
Daniel Nava (two more hits).
The Valentine Magic Number is stuck at 9.
