"It's kind of like a release or something to get the inflammation out of there. If that were the case, I would have a normal offseason and be able to lift weights, something that I didn't get a chance to do very much last offseason." This will be the third time in his career that Pedroia has had hand-related surgery. He should be back in time for full participation in Spring Training.
