Red Sox acquired infielder Jemile Weeks from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for
Kelly Johnson. Weeks—out of the University of Miami—has major league experience with both the Oakland Athletics and Orioles. Over his career, Weeks has hit .259 with 41 doubles, 17 triples, four home runs, and 56 RBIs. The 27-year old Weeks will wear #7. Boston also acquires
Ivan De Jesus, Jr. from the Orioles and sends third baseman
Michael Almanzar to Baltimore.
