They are
one up and
one down on this make-or-break road trip. In need of
at least five wins on this seven-game journey, the Red Sox pretty much have to have a victory at
SkyDome tonight. The
OH-Fense that shone so brightly on Monday night was extinguished by the devastating curveball of the "immortal"
J.A. ("Just Adequate") Happ in
a 7-3 loss.
Jake Peavy, on the other hand, may have lessened his trade value a bit by allowing five runs on eight hits in 6.1 innings. Of course,
half of the run support given to
John Lackey on Monday would have gotten
The Carmine Hose into a 7-7 tie.
Shane Victorino and
David Ross each had three hits in the loss—while
Stephen Drew went yard (or
meter, I guess, since it was in Canada) for the second straight game. The bottom line is that Boston inched further away from any realistic chance at the post-season. Every loss at this stage creates a steeper hill to climb.
