Can't they save some of these runs for Jake Peavy? The Red Sox put up two touchdowns tonight in support for John Lackey in a 14-1 smoking of the Blue Jays at SkyDome. David Ortiz went yard twice and Stephen Drew clouted a three-run shot as The Carmine 'Hosers' showed no mercy to their brethren from The Great White North. Ortiz passed Carl Yastrzemski to move into 36th place on the All-Time HR list—now with 453. Boston knocked out 18 hits in the rout—three each from Mike Napoli, Daniel Nava and Xander Bogaerts. Ortiz and Drew each drove in four runs, while Jackie Bradley, Jr. and Christian Vazquez each drove in two. Lost in the offensive avalanche was the fact that Lackey went seven solid innings—giving up just two hits. So, now they have won eight of their last nine and have moved out of the AL East cellar.
