Tonight's match-up between the Red Sox and
Theo Epstein's Chicago Cubs could be more than just your typical 'prodigal son' stuff.
Jake Peavy will take the hill for
The Carmine Hose tonight, in search of his first victory since
April 25th. That's back when soccer players all over the world were just
practicing fake injury dives in anticipation of the World Cup. Peavy has registered a 6.38 ERA over his last nine outings. This has raised
speculation that the right-hander could be pitching for his spot in the rotation tonight. With the emergence of
Brandon Workman and
Rubby De La Rosa, the Red Sox rotation may quickly start to turn on
merit and not
seniority. Stay tuned.
