On Wednesday,
Mookie Betts turned up the heat a little more on Red Sox GM
Ben Cherington. In his 21st game at AAA Pawtucket the CF/2B/DH went 3-5 with a walk. So far this year for the PawSox,
Betts is hitting .337 with a .418 on-base percentage.
Overall this year (AA, AAA) he's hitting .350 with 8 HRs and 48 RBIs. Oh, did we mention the
28 stolen bases? Sooner or later (likely sooner) Cherington will be forced to bring this kid to the bigs to infuse some energy into the Boston outfield. Putting Betts in center (where he's already played 15 games at AAA), moving
Jackie Bradley, Jr. to left and leaving
Brock "Babe" Holt in right would be an intriguing alignment.
