When the 2014 Red Sox get elite starting pitching, they have a
chance to win games. When they get performances like
John Lackey's on Monday and
Jake Peavy's last night, they have
no shot. Peavy gave up seven earned runs in five innings during
a listless 8-2 defeat at the hands of the Mighty M's on Tuesday. Our offense, once again, came almost exclusively from
Brock 'Babe' Holt—who launched his second HR of the year to account for
all of Boston's runs. We are getting perilously close to 'Fire Sale' time on Yawkey Way. Look out
Jon Lester,
Felix Doubront, and
Koji Uehara.
