Jose Offerman has repeadetly failed to show up for court depositions—according to an ex-minor-league player suing the former Red Sox infielder. Attorneys for former Bridgeport Bluefish catcher
John Nathans say a default ruling against Offerman should
not be lifted. Offerman's attorneys claim his residency in the Dominican Republic makes it difficult for him to make the depositions. The suit stems from a 2007 incident in which Offerman allegedly wielded a baseball bat against Nathans during a minor league game.
