Tonight,
Brock Holt demonstrated the importance of the most underrated element of baseball:
scoring runs. Holt 'pierced the pentagon' twice tonight and—son-of-a-gun—
the Red Sox won, 2-1.
Jon Lester fought off a terrible first inning to pitch six plus for his seventh win of the year. Holt—now hitting .338—had two hits, as did
Dustin Pedroia (who also had one of the RBIs).
Xander Bogaerts was 1-3 with the other RBI. Boston now has one more game with the Twinkies before heading West for a tough road-trip that starts in Oakland heads to Seattle and ends back East in
Baghdad-by-the-Hudson.
