Usually, Red Sox fans travel pretty well.
Occasionally, however, a grammatically-challenged member of
The Nation pops up. Case in point: last night in Houston, a fan of the
Carmine Hose held up a sign aimed at former Boston centerfielder
Jacoby Ellsbury that was filled with spelling mistakes. The
sentiment was correct—that Ellsbury is a "traitor"—unfortunately her Magic Marker put it down as "trader". Perhaps the fan knew of some stock market issue that Jacoby is involved with—after all, he
was known to hang out with
John Henry (who is an expert at commodities trading). Alas, we may never know.
