Sox Sleep-Over Turned Wide-Awake Nightmare
Add this to the seemingly never-ending list of weird Red Sox lore. After their stirring—but late-running—comeback victory on Sunday night, three players decided to have a little overnight 'pajama party' by sleeping-in at Fenway Park. As part of the vast Fenway renovation project, a six-bed room was installed above the home clubhouse. (You might recall that FenwayNation covered the "nap room" story last September.) So Mike Napoli, John Lackey and Clay Buchholz pulled an all-nighter on Yawkey Way. As we know now, the results weren't all that great for Buchholz (2.1 innings, 6 earned runs) although not bad for Napoli (2 for 5, 2 RBIs). Lackey was just an observer. There's still no confirmation of a report that the Red Sox have hired Tom Bodett to oversee the sleep room.
