At somewhere around 1:20 AM,
Jackie Bradley, Jr. mercifully doubled in two runs and the Red Sox eventually took
a 6-4 win over Chicago in 14 innings. This was a
wicked bad game—one in which Boston got 15 walks and barely pulled out a win.
Clay Buchholz was excruciatingly slow early—but gave up only six hits and two earned runs in six innings—striking out six.
Dustin Pedroia—hitting lead off—was 2 for 6 with 3 runs scored.
Chris Capuano threw 2 2/3 innings of shutout ball for the win.
