At last year's trade deadline, the Red Sox, White Sox and Tigers engaged in a three-way trade that netted Boston
Jake Peavy. Detroit got highly-touted shortstop
Jose iglesias from the Red Sox and Chicago snared
Avisail "Mini-Cabrera" Garcia from the Tigers. Nice deal—all three teams got something they needed. Hold on. Iglesias is virtually lost for all of 2014 with stress fractures in both shins. Now,
Garcia will have season-ending shoulder surgery as a result of a diving catch on Wednesday. So, the last guy standing from the transaction is Peavy—who has already pitched well
twice this year. Nice going, Ben!
