Ron Darling makes reference to the grittier nature of Mets championships. Says the letter,
"The victory you earn is sweeter than the victory you're give." I think we can all see the subtext on that puppy. It goes on,
"When we've won, we've proved through the way we did it that True New Yorkers are Mets fans." Booh-yeah! Fans are then asked to add their name to the list of "True New Yorkers". Nice going, Metropolitans!
