Around
twenty MLB clubs—including the Red Sox—were in Tampa yesterday to watch former Boston reliever Joel Hanrahan "showcase" his recovery from
Tommy John surgery. Multiple reports suggest that the "fit and healthy" Hanrahan consistently hit 87-93 on radar guns—a pretty good range for a pitcher just eleven months out from the knife. Among the other teams present were:
The Evil Empire, the Mets, the Royals, the Rockies and the Indians. It will be interesting to see if
Ben Cherington takes another gamble on the righty—especially in the wake of possible health questions surrounding
Koji Uehara.
