Red Sox General Manager
Ben Cherington appeared on
WEEI's Dennis & Callahan Morning Show today. When confronted with the potential conundrum of an overcrowded outfield, Cherington
did not rule out the possibility of a trade involving one or more of the excess players. Speculation has been rampant that—with the likely retention of the resurgent
Jackie Bradley, Jr—one of the
Mike Carp,
Daniel Nava,
Jonny Gomes group would either have to be traded, or (in the case of Nava) sent back to the minors. Of course, they could also send Bradley back to AAA—but that would seem to be both an unpopular and unwise move at this point. Stay tuned!
