Maybe there should be provisions in MLB contracts for things other than skydiving and skiing. On Saturday, Jake Peavy lacerated the index finger on his left hand in a fishing-related mishap. It's unclear whether it was a fishing knife or a fishing line, but according to manager John Farrell, the accident "almost cut through his left index finger". This latest hand-related injury comes after Peavy injured the ring finger on his right hand earlier in camp. We suggest putting the righty in an isolation bubble until at least March 15th. At this point in the investigation, it's unknown whether Mike Carp accompanied Peavy on the fishing expedition.
