While his contract extension talks are not yet resolved,
Jon Lester declared himself ready to take the hill on Monday to begin the defense of the team's eighth World Series Championship. The lefty hurled six frames for a Red Sox minor league squad in his final "tune-up" before Opening Day. Lester allowed one run on three hits. The only thing lagging in Lester's arsenal so far is one particular pitch. Bur fear not. As Lester explains,
"The one that's kind of dragged behind for me is my curveball. I don't know if that's just arm strength or repetition. But it will come. It's not something I'm concerned about." He will be our ace on Monday—and hopefully for many more openers to come.
