John Farrell announced this morning that Grady Sizemore has won the starting center fielder job for the Boston Red Sox. While not completely unexpected, the move is nevertheless highly significant. Sizemore—having a sizzling Spring—has not played major league baseball for the past two years due to a string of injuries.
Jackie Bradley, Jr. will be sent back to AAA Pawtucket—but is clearly just one text message away from Fenway should anything happen to Sizemore.
