According to
The Detroit Free Press,
free-agent shortstop Stephen Drew is willing to sign a one-year deal with the Detroit Tigers. By signing for just one year, Drew would not be blocking the other former Red Sox shortstop,
Jose Iglesias. Iglesias could miss all of the 2014 season with shin fractures in both legs. The actual signing might not come until after Opening Day (March 31st)—which would technically allow Drew to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year.
