Red Sox manager
John Farrell announced today that
Edward Mujica and Andrew Miller would be the next choices in line if Koji Uehara were—for whatever reason—unable to close games. This is not an unimportant consideration—given the team's experiences last year with
Andrew Bailey and
Joel Hanrahan. Koji was actually
fourth in line for the job at the start of last year, with fellow-countryman
Junichi Tazawa slotted in as the third option.
