The Texas Rangers will take a chance on Daniel Bard by signing him to a minor league contract with an invitation to big-league camp. The once-dominant set-up man for the Red Sox has suffered a litany of physical and other problems since he was the heir-apparent to
Jonathan Papelbon. In 2010, Bard had a 1.93 ERA over 74 2/3 innings. He gave up only 45 hits over those innings, with 73 strikeouts. Hopefully, Bard can correct things and return to being a productive hurler in the major leagues.
