Curt Schilling is still getting support from around four in ten writers (39.8%) in publicly-revealed voting for the Hall of Fame. With just under one-quarter of the vote represented by the public vote (23.4%), Schilling (on the ballot for the second time) comes in just behind
Roger Clemens—who pulls 41.5% of the vote. Former Red Sox closer
Lee Smith is getting just 24.1% of the vote. So far,
Greg Maddux (100%), Billerica's
Tom Glavine (97.7%),
Frank Thomas (91.7%) and
Craig Biggio (81.2%) would all be inducted if this sample is representative of the whole voting bloc.The formal induction announcement is Wednesday.
