In his second year of eligibility, Red Sox legend
Curt Schilling saw a
drop in the percentage of writers who saw him worthy of Hall of Fame induction. Last year, Schilling pulled 38.8% (maybe there
is something to numerology!) in a year when no one was elected to the Hall. This year, his 29.2% translates to about a 25% drop in support. This does not bode well for Schilling's future chances—although this year's stacked field didn't help his cause. As pointed out by
WEEI's Kirk Minihane, Schilling has a better career ERA and WHIP than newly-elected
Tom Glavine and yet he is on the outside looking in today.
