Stephen Drew |
Latest speculation suggests that Uber-Agent
Scott Boras is using the Mets to goose up any eventual deal between his client
Stephen Drew and the Red Sox. Any signing of Drew by the Metropolitans is being characterized as
more of a possibility rather than a probability. The Mets don't want to go beyond a one- or two-year pact—and Drew would probably rather re-up with Boston for that type of deal. Stay tuned, something might pop on this sooner rather than later, as the Drew market is pretty much down to these two suitors. The Red Sox remain perfectly content to go into their World Series title defense with
Xander Bogaerts at short and
Will Middlebrooks at third.
