Multiple reports indicate that
Mike Napoli has signed a two-year, $32 million deal with the World Series Champion Red Sox. This signing was almost a necessity in the wake of other departures and the need to have
some protection for World Series MVP
David Ortiz. The pickings were slim on the fist base market, so the team probably overpaid Napoli—but at least kept the term of the contract down.
