According to ESPNBoston.com's Gordon Edes, a "baseball source" indicated that Stephen Drew will not return to the Red Sox in 2014. According to Drew's Uber-Agent Scott Boras, multiple teams have offered the shortstop multi-year deals—with the Red Sox only offering a one year, $14.1 million qualifying offer. Drew was solid most of the year, but—aside from solid defense—disappeared offensively in the post-season (save for one big HR). Now, the Sox will likely move phenom Xander Bogaerts to short and go with Will Middlebrooks (barring his involvement in rumored trades) at third.
