According to a report by
The New York Post's George A. King III,
the Red Sox are aggressively going after free-agent Carlos Beltran. With the expected loss of
Jacoby Ellsbury, Boston would significantly back-fill their batting order by inserting the 8-time All-Star. Beltran is a legendary post-season hitter and—even with bruised ribs—hit .294 in the 2013 World Series. Beltran could slide into right field with
Shane Victorino moving to center. Of course, the Yankees and Orioles are also in hot pursuit of Beltran. Starting Monday, we will all have a much better sense of how things play out.
