The Red Sox have announced an incredibly complicated "tiered" ticket pricing structure for 2014. Basically, to simplify it for all of us rubes in the Peanut Gallery:
you pay 4.8% more than you did in 2013. The ownership group is
trying to smooth over the increases by dangling their shiny new variable-pricing scheme—where games against the Yankees cost more than games against the Astros. First of all, the new structure is completely incomprehensible. Secondly, it just tries to mask the
obvious price increases—more money is more money.
