The Bronx Embalmers are still targeting Jacoby Ellsbury as one of three free-agent outfielders. While
Shin-Soo Choo and
Carlos Beltran are "1" and 1A" on their radar, Ellsbury is
"a hair behind the other two stars". Now that the underwhelming
Curtis Granderson has declined the Empire's $14.1 million qualifying offer (much to the delight of
The Pinstriped Posers), they are free to spend like no luxury tax threshold even exists. Not that we ever believed their phony desire to stay under the cap. Let's hope if Jacoby
does leave, he heads to the Pacific Northwest and not to
The Concrete Bunker On 161st Street.
