In the midst of their run at a possible World Series appearance,
the Red Sox signed 27-year-old Cuban pitcher Dalier Hinojosa to a minor league contract. The right-hander only throws in the low 90s, but reportedly has a devastating split-finger and/or change-up. The 6-foot, 200 pound Hinojosa projects as a reliever. In Cuba's
Serie Nacional league, he had 87 strikeouts and a 3.52 ERA in 2012.
