In an interview with the
Boston Herald,
the son of Red Sox legend Jerry Remy has denied the murder of his girlfriend Jennifer Martel. Asked directly if he killed the mother of his 5-year old daughter,
Jared Remy said,
"No. That’s ridiculous. How dumb would I have to be? I loved her, I still love her." While both of his parents have requested a meeting with him, Remy has denied their request. He did state the following about his parents,
"They’re very good people. I wish the media would leave them alone. None of this is their fault. They don’t need to be dragged down in this, too." The 34-year old is locked up at Cambridge's Middlesex County Jail awaiting his murder trial.
