Now that we can start talking about playoff rotations,
Jon Lester is making it
real tough not to assign him the #1 spot. In another stellar eight-inning performance, Lester gave up just one run on three hits while striking out five in
a 5-1 smiting of The Evil Ones. Lester used a mid-90s fastball and his devastating cutter to make
The Bronx Embalmers live up to their moniker. The offense was keyed by multiple hit performances from
Mike Napoli,
Jonny Gomes and
Shane Victorino—along with
David Ortiz notching his 92nd RBI of the year with another slicing double to left. It was Boston's
91st win—putting them 32-games over .500 for the first time since the last day of the 2004 season. Ring a bell?
