If the Red Sox really want to have significant contributions this year from phenom Xander Bogaerts, they should—forthwith—assign him a better uniform number than his current "lineman-esque" #72. There are several available numbers out there—but our choice would be #10. While recently departed Jose Igleaisas sported that number earlier this year, it seems perfect for a shortstop/third baseman like Bogaerts. An alternative would be #13—currently worn by coach Brian Butterfield (hey, give him #72!) So, BenCher, give the kid a break and fit him with an appropriate uni number!
