It's seems about time to reveal one of the secret weapons of the 2013 Carmine Hose:
Daniel Nava. And that's not just because he was the only offensive force is yesterday's 3-0 shutout at the hands of the immortal
Doug Fister. Nava did go 3-3 with a walk (including two doubles) and seemed to be stranded on third base the entire game. But it's much more than this that should propel the part-time left-fielder into the running for the Tenth Player Award. Nava is now fifth on the team in hitting—after nearly 400 at-bats (.300). In 113 games, he has 10 HRs and 56 RBIs. His on-base percentage (.387) is second only to
David Ortiz and his .831 OPS is also second to Big Papi (excluding
Mike Carp's .912 in just 69 games). All in all, Nava has been a revelation and a major reason the Red Sox are where they are today.
