It's exactly what you want to hear from a 20-year old phenom who is ranked among the top five prospects in all of baseball:
"I'm ready for it". That's what
Xander Bogaerts told the assembled media on Monday as he rode the pine in
Baghdad by the Bay. Manager
John Farrell has strongly hinted that Bogaerts will make his MLB debut tonight against right-hander
Ryan Vogelsong. Said Farrell,
"Xander comes to us, and he’ll rotate through the left side of the infield...We feel like Xander’s presence can help us go up against some good left-handed starters." Or righties, we guess. Look for
The Bogie Era to start in earnest with the young Aruban getting a
lot more playing time that Farrell is letting on. As the kid says,
"Hopefully we win a few games and we clinch the pennant race." It will be exciting. Bring it on.
