We're guessing
Will Middlebrooks doesn't like the local restaurant scene in the Greater Pawtucket area. Because he's making a strong case for never again returning to the cozy confines of McCoy Stadium. Since his return to
The Show, Middlebrooks is hitting
.441 with two HRs, three doubles and seven RBIs in 11 games. He's slugging .706 and sports an OPS of 1.241. Granted, his overall 2013 stats still seem sub-par (.228 in 64 total games), but the trend is pretty clear. There's no more talk on Yawkey Way about acquiring a middle-of-the-order right-handed bat at the August waiver deadline—he
is that bat. Add in the potential of
Xander Bogaerts from the right side and the situation should be well in hand.
