Ryan Kalish With A Young Red Sox Fan |
Ryan Kalish was once considered the next 'can't miss' outfield prospect in the Red Sox organization. He and
Josh Reddick were pegged to be fixtures at Fenway for years to come. Well, Reddick is now in Oakland and, today, the 25-year old
Kalish is facing his fifth surgery in less than two years. In an L.A. hospital, Kalish will undergo "cervical fusion surgery" to his neck. As scary as this sounds, the team expects him to be ready for 2014 Spring Training. In his brief stint with the big club, Kalish showed the promise that could have led to a solid MLB career. He's still young enough to pull it off. Let's all hope he can.
