We're learning more about what Sox players
Jonny Gomes,
Jarrod Saltalamacchia and
Dustin Pedroia did while watching the Jays-A's game at
SkyDome (Rogers Centre
this) yesterday. Apparently,
they weren't just passive fans chowing down hot dogs. According to
Josh Donaldson, former teammate Gomes told him to hit a home run. Said former Sox player
Brandon Moss,
"I did make some inappropriate gestures toward them. In all honesty - who has an off day in Toronto and comes to a baseball game? I feel like that's a cry for attention. 'I'm going to be on TV!' You play in Boston - you don't get enough attention?" Another former Red Sox player,
Josh Reddick added,
"He [Pedroia] did a classic Ric Flair 'Woo.' I obviously said 'What's up?' They said to hit a homer and I said I didn't know if I could anymore because I'd already hit five...they must have been pretty bored to come to a ballpark on their off day."
