Bill de Blasio is a die-hard Red Sox fan—always has been. As a kid in 1967, he sat in the grandstands at Fenway and watched the Impossible Dream come to near-fruition; he still thinks the 1975 World Series was the greatest ever. Did we mention he's running for Mayor of
New York? Exactly. So, what do some of his potential constituents think about a Royal Rooter in Gracie Mansion? A manager at a Yankee bar states,
"There’s no good outcome for him. It’s going to perturb a lot of people and raise questions about whether he is true to the city." How does de Blasio handle the conundrum? The future Chief Executive of the five boroughs states,
"I have my loyalty to the team of my youth...the team that I grew up with was constantly the underdog but managed to prevail. I don’t know any better lesson in life." You go, Bill!
