Larry Lucchino is no fool. He knows
The Nation is panting for the arrival of the "next great Red Sox player" in
Xander Bogaerts. Pretty much everyone has accepted the fact that the 20-year old Aruban infielder will be showing off his talents at Fenway sooner rather than later. Now, it appears
the Red Sox President and CEO is on board as well. Lucchino appeared on
WEEI's Dennis & Callahan Morning Show (hosted solo today by the estimable
Dale "Darryl" Arnold). Larry said the following about Xander:
"[He] plays the game with a lot of excitement and joy, so it’ll be great when his time comes. We’re certainly thinking he’s going to be up here at some point this year." There you go. Start the speculation on what his uniform number will be.
